The Danish-born Professional Numerologist and author is bringing embodiment, ethics, and intuition back to the ancient language of numbers.
“What’s your life path number?” might not yet be as common a question as “What’s your zodiac sign?” But if Novalee Wilder has anything to say about it, it soon will be.
In a culture where the voices telling us what to be and how to act are only getting louder, Numerology is quietly reclaiming space as a tool for personal clarity, decision-making, and transformation. Used to guide everything from legal name changes to business launches, marriages, and major life transitions, the ancient system offers something many modern seekers crave: structure without rigidity, insight without fear, and meaning without dogma.
“I’m not interested in just predicting your future,” says Novalee Wilder. “I’m interested in helping you understand yourself well enough to shape it.”
From Skepticism to Curiosity
Wilder first encountered Numerology through friends and the internet in her twenties. At the time, she had recently moved from Denmark to New York to study acting. “I was growing as a person and artist,” she says, “yet still falling into the same patterns and experiences, even with new people, a new city, and a new language.”
The idea that a name could influence the course of a life made her pause. “Your name influencing and shaping your life?” she remembers thinking. “That seemed pretty out there.”
Still, something lingered. When one of her friends changed her name after visiting a Numerologist and major things started shifting in her life, Wilder’s skepticism turned into curiosity.
At the end of 2014, she booked a session with a newly graduated Numerologist. “This session was so brutally illuminating,” Wilder says. “The things she could see and map out for me, not just in my inner life but also specific times in my life where I had experienced loss or love, were so accurate.”
When the Numerologist suggested that meaningful change would require a full legal name change, something clicked. “When she said I had to change everything to see lasting change,” Wilder says, “I was all in.”
A Name Change That Changed Everything
After choosing new names based on the recommended name vibrations, Wilder submitted her application. Denmark’s efficient digital system approved it within 48 hours.
“My life changed in so many ways it’s hard to adequately describe,” she says. “My intuition shifted, my relationship to my body, to love, to my art, and how I showed up in the world. I went from not really believing in love to dating a man that I immediately knew was the one I would marry!”
Those changes sparked deeper curiosity. Wilder began exploring other spiritual tools and reading extensively about Chaldean Numerology. “Somewhere in me, the seed to want to study it in depth was planted,” she says. “I could see and feel the changes, and I wanted to know the how and why of it all.”
Following the Pull
After graduating from acting school, Wilder had space to decide what her next chapter would look like. “The pull to study Numerology was so strong that I immediately signed up for a course,” she says. “I started reading and learning everything I could.”
She didn’t initially plan to work professionally. “I didn’t sign up with the express intention of wanting to work with Numerology,” she explains. “Yet as the classes unfolded, my teacher saw a talent in me and encouraged it.”
That encouragement shifted her trajectory. Instead of looking for a conventional job in the United States, Wilder decided to go all in. She created a website and began offering readings and name changes.
“I quickly realized that my skills as an actor, the ability to be present, listen, and read between the lines, served me well,” she says, both when creating Numeroscopes and when sitting with clients.
Not long after starting her business, Wilder was approached about writing her first book. The invitation reflected something she was already feeling. A fresh take on Chaldean Numerology was asking to be organized, shaped, and passed on to others.
Presence, Intuition, and Accuracy
What surprised Wilder most as she did readings was how clearly intuitive information came through, even without direct interaction. “I realized that I had clairvoyant abilities that showed up even when I was just recording an audio file and not meeting the client face-to-face,” she says.
She was struck by the precision of the work. “I have so many stories,” she adds. “The accuracy of the numbers continues to amaze me.”
Because Wilder has been on the receiving end of readings herself, she approaches her practice with unusual care. “Calculating someone’s numbers and reading their Numeroscope is an intimate affair,” she says. “I don’t believe in stripping people down or revealing their biggest wound just to validate that I’m good at my job.”
For her, ethics are inseparable from skill. “How you phrase things matters,” she says. “The way you tell people their story can help them frame themselves as the hero of their story instead of the victim of fate.”
Systems, Intuition, and Practical Application
When structuring a reading, Wilder starts with the fundamentals. “You have to start with the numbers. They don’t lie and they always tell you the who, what, how, and why,“ she explains. “My intuition connects the dots further and gives me the images that will speak to the specific client.”
“If you ever feel lost as a reader, return to the basics,” she says. “In a birthdate, you’ll find core personality traits, challenges, gifts, and idiosyncrasies. In a name, you’ll find the filters and amplifiers.”
For Wilder, this approach creates compassion rather than comparison: “When we understand who we are, we can make choices that align with that vision. We don’t spend our time wishing we were different, jealous of people with specific numbers and paths that don’t look like ours. Embracing our messy imperfections and human journey is important.”
Her advice is this: “Learn your chart, accept it, and revisit it every year or so to course correct and forgive any side quests.”
“I’m always more interested in the practical application than the zoomed-out higher perspective,” Wilder adds. “Yes, your soul chose a lesson plan, but what is on the schedule for today and what are we doing about it?”
Boundaries, Responsibility, and Ethical Care
Wilder is acutely aware of the responsibility that comes with guiding people during vulnerable moments. “If you’re going to buy a house based on the numbers I tell you, change your name legally, pick a wedding date, or take on a last name through marriage, these are important decisions that will shape your identity and world,” she says.
“If I tell you that you have a problem but do not offer any solution, what good am I? I can’t guide you if I have not walked the path first. I would not be able to say things with certainty without a deep level of embodiment and respect for my craft.”
That responsibility informs how she works, teaches, and shares her knowledge. “Depending on the safety of a space, I am selective about what I share,” she explains. “I never want to open up someone’s field in a way that gives them a vulnerability hangover later.”
It is also why she rarely offers free or low-cost readings. “The more people invest of their focus, time, and resources, the more I can help them.”
Timeless Knowledge, Filtered Through the Present
While Numerology is often described as ancient, Wilder sees it as timeless.
“Reading books from Chaldean Numerologists who lived 50, 100, or more years before me shows me that the core knowledge stays the same,” she says. “We as filters on the information change with the times, but the patterns of the numbers stay the same.”
Relevance in the numerology business, she believes, comes from staying true to personal curiosity rather than trying to do everything. “I’ve had many business name sessions and while I love doing them, business Numerology is not as exciting to me as the personal name change or teaching Numerology,” she says. “I follow my passion and every Numerologist who stays in business is hopefully doing the same.”
Integration, Leadership, and the Future of Numerology
Wilder recognizes the growing connections between spirituality, psychology, wellness, and personal development. “I see a huge surge in the interest of all the spiritual disciplines and I love it,” she says. “I hope to see Numerology become more mainstream, even with the surface simplification that might come from it.”
“I see my students and clients combining their spiritual tools with self-development and clinical approaches. They are always curious,” she adds. “When more people know about Numerology, we will get more experts, teachers, and books on it. Diverse voices lead to diversity in the kinds of things this field will be used for and can help with.”
With visibility also comes responsibility. As her work has gained wider recognition, Wilder has come to be regarded as a leading voice in modern Numerology, a role she approaches with care rather than authority.
“Being a Numerologist is often a solitary existence. We’re rarely found in groups,” Wilder says. “As a leader, you go first and show the way. It means you try out things to see if they work, fail, and course correct in a more visible way.”
“You set prices that give other people permission to charge more, and set new precedents that change old structures,” she says. “I love it when people get inspired by my work and my students excel. I hope to see even more numerological talent in my space in the future.”
Measuring Success Beyond Metrics
Success, for Wilder, is not measured solely by conventional benchmarks.
“In my experience, the world organizes itself around your identity and actions,” she says. “This means that as you change, the world changes. As your inner world changes, your actions shift.”
Her work focuses on one specific lever of identity. “I am in the business of changing one aspect of your identity: your name,” she says. “In my experience with hundreds of clients, this change ripples within and around you in a way that will have very tangible and measurable results over time.”
“I can’t claim that people get pregnant or cured from my work, yet they seem to. I can’t promise you love or success, yet it seems to follow. I can’t always explain the exact mechanisms, but the feedback validates the work again and again.”
Looking Forward
As author, teacher, and founder of The Numerology School, Wilder hopes her work adds something lasting to the field. Her writing and teaching span A Little Bit of Numerology, A Little Bit of Angel Numbers, her podcast The Numerology Podcast, and the forthcoming The Numerology of You, all extensions of the same inquiry into identity, names, and personal transformation.
“Every century has its loudest voices and unique perspectives,” she says. “I hope mine layer some nuances that will survive and support people beyond my lifetime. I stand on the shoulders of those before me, from the Irishman Cheiro to Danish Annet Kofoed.”
That sense of lineage informs not only how she works, but how she invites others into the field. For those feeling called to Numerology themselves, her advice is rooted in trust rather than urgency. “Your background is perfect for the work you will be doing. Nothing is a waste or a detour in the end,” she says.
She returns to this idea in her work: “Know that the right system and right teacher will feel like they activate a wisdom you already hold within. We are students, seekers, teachers and masters in many lifetimes. We find each other again and again to go deeper with the work.”
Wilder encourages curiosity over certainty. “I encourage you to read about your numbers and how they are interpreted within the different systems of Numerology, the main ones being Pythagorean and Chaldean Numerology,” she says. “See what resonates and if any specific readers or authors have a way of conveying the information that feels accurate. I have free resources to start you off, and so do many others. See if one of the systems speaks to you and opens your innate intuition.”
Equally important, she notes, is discernment. “I would stay clear of anyone using fear or very divisive language; unfollow voices that lower yours.”
Ultimately, her invitation is simple: “If Numerology is calling,” Wilder says, “please answer the call. There is something in the numbers you will be grateful to have with you in the future.”
